Ashburn, VA, in the eastern part of Loudoun County, has been transformed from a sleepy little hamlet in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, to a bustling community of many growing neighborhoods with a wide array of housing styles.  Beginning in the early 1980's the communities of Ashburn Farm and Ashburn Village were developed to accommodate the growing population of Loudoun County.  This growth was followed several years later with the development of other neighborhoods such as, Brambleton, Belmont Country Club and Broadlands.  Today Ashburn is convenient to Washington, DC, the many companies that comprise the Dulles Technology Corridor. Janelia Farm Research Campus, Loudoun One World Trade Center and AOL to name a few including quick acces to  Dulles International Airport.

The charming and historic village of "old" Ashburn rests in the middle of the newer communities and is bisected by the popular WO&D bike trail enjoyed by many Ashburn residents.  More recreational activities are found in the Ashburn Village Sports Pavillion and the state-of-the-art Ashburn Ice House skating facility.  World class golf is available at nearby Lansdowne Resort as well as Belmont Country Club. Several other courses in the area allow golfers a wide choice of venues to play. 

 

Ashburn is also home to Redskin Park, home of the NFL's Washington Redskins, where the team practices and conducts mini-camps.  It is a great place to see your favorite players workout and maybe get an autograph.

 

Opportunities abound for those Ashburn residents seeking higher education.  Northern Virginia Community College is nearby and George Washington University and Strayer University have facilities there as well.
